Scranton, Lackawanna County - It may be a lesson we all learn early on, but students at one area university got a refresher course in pedestrian safety Tuesday morning.

The University of Scranton teamed up with PennDOT, Scranton Police and Lackawanna County Highway Safety to catch students attention in a positive way. Flyers with important safety tips for pedestrians and drivers were handed out along Mulberry Street, which runs through the campus.

Students tell us, it's a high traffic area. "I think it's great. I know a lot of people that just walk right into the street without even looking," said student Abby Eschmann. Lighted crosswalks were installed around the student center and new dorms to also keep students safe when crossing the street on campus.
