A multiple-route resurfacing project in Union and Northumberland counties is scheduled to start the week of August 5
Montoursville – A multiple-route resurfacing project in Union and Northumberland counties is scheduled to start the week of August 5.
 
Work will include milling of the existing pavement and resurfacing, drainage improvements and bridge preservation activities.
 
The project includes short sections of several state routes in West Milton, and a piece of Route 642 in Milton.
 
Work will take place along Route 1004 (High Street) and Route 642 (Broad Street) in West Milton, east along Route 642 (Mahoning Street) across the Susquehanna River and several blocks into Milton, ending around Cherry Street. Work in West Milton also includes South Third Street and Third Street and a short section of Old Route 15.
Motorists are advised that the contractor will implement a detour from Monday to Saturday, August 5-10 on Route 642 in West Milton. The detour will use Old Route 15 Road, Tabernacle Road and River Road. The contractor will fix the railroad crossing during this closure. All remaining work will be done under daylight traffic patterns.
 
All work is scheduled for completion by October 25.
 
Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is the prime contractor for this $554,880 project.
