Mount Carmel High School Mini Thon

Mount Carmel Area Junior Senior high school students on their feet all day long (no sitting!) To raise money for charity
Mount Carmel, PA – The students at Mount Carmel Area High School, Mount Carmel, PA., will spend 12 hours on their feet through the day on Saturday, September 28, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.  The event, organized by Mount Carmel Area High School Alumni, will benefit the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, Hershey, PA.  The high school’s “Mini-THON” is based on the Penn State Dance Marathon – the largest student-run philanthropy in the nation where dancers spend 46 hours awake and on their feet to raise money for pediatric caner patients.
“Mini-THONs” were started in 1993-1994 by students wanting to support the Four Diamonds Fund even before college and have raised more than $10 million since their inception.. The Mount Carmel Mini-THON’s goal is to raise over $5,000 for the Four Diamonds Fund by participating in various fundraising activities.

Activities such as dodge ball, basketball, dancing, zumba and other various events will be held during the Mini-THON to keep the dancers awake and motivated to endure a whole day without sitting.
