More Dead Dogs Found in the Poconos

Someone found three dead dogs wrapped in trash bags. One animal appeared to have been shot.

Brodheadsville, Monroe County – Three dead dogs were found dumped in trash bags in the Poconos Thursday. They were all in the West End of Monroe County.

A small dog was found wrapped in a trash bag in Strousdburg Monday. Now people
are worried a dog killer is snatching pets.

The Animal Welfare Society of Monroe reports the latest dead dogs were found in the
Brodheadsville and Jonas area. One appeared to have been shot.

AWSOM President Marie Grimm said one of the dogs was found just off of Merwinsburg
Road. Another was found on Jonas Road. And one was found near the Shoprite in
Brodheadsville.

AWSOM is warning people to watch their dogs closely. Grimm said, "I can't
stress enough. Please stay with your animals. Don't let them out of your sight.
have them on a leash. Somebody is going around and taking animals and God knows
doing what with them."

The shelter staff confirmed one of the dogs found Thursday had been reported
missing by its owner.
