Millville Police Chief Charged With Assault

Millville Police Chief Ted Stout faces assault and harassment charges.
Millville Police Chief Ted Stout faces assault and harassment charges in connection with two alleged incidents in which his now former girlfriend and fellow Millville Police Officer Tori Harrison says he hit her.

Harrison says the incidents took place in June and July after which she suffered cuts and bruises. Mayor Jerry Wright told Eyewitness News, "the unfortunate thing is this did not happen while he was on duty but when you are a public figure you are held to a higher standard in your personal life as compared to the average person."

Olexa Robles from Millville reacted to the charges, "It is sad because he wears a badge and is supposed to be a role model."

Chief Stout was suspended without pay as his case makes its way through the courts. A Columbia County Judge also granted  that a PFA filed against him by Harrison. Stout can not carry a gun and must stay away from Harrison.
