Lycoming College’s 10th annual Read-In to feature ‘Hunger Games’

Williamsport, Lycoming County-Lycoming College’s Snowden Library will host its 10th annual Read-In fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year, participating members of the campus community will read Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel, “The Hunger Games,” which started a pop culture craze and was adapted for 2012’s blockbuster film featuring Jennifer Lawrence.

For the event, student groups representing various campus organizations will relax on couches and bean bags by the fireplace in the library to read aloud during one-hour intervals throughout the day. Groups will raise money and collect food pantry items to be donated to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, an organization that distributes more than 28 million pounds of food and grocery products to more than 800 soup kitchens, shelters and food pantries in 27 Central Pennsylvania counties.

Refreshments will be provided by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
