Eric Phillips from Jenkins Township allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend on Monday at his home near Pittston and during that alleged assault fractured the skull of a one month old boy. Phillips was already facing charges of assault and threats from the incident Monday afternoon but additional charges were filed Friday in connection with the injuries the infant suffered. The Monday incident resulted in the nearby Pittston Area High School being placed in lockdown. Detectives say Phillips and his girlfriend got into a violent argument was which time Phillips went out of control firing several shots at his girlfriend as she held the infant. The infant fell to the floor during the incident and suffered a fractured skull. He remains hospitalized tonight his condition is unknown.
