Representatives from the Acahela Climb Project committee of Leadership Wilkes-Barre recently met with officials of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council-Boy Scouts of America to plan the construction of an indoor climbing wall at Camp Acahela in Blakeslee.

Construction of the climbing wall, with an estimated cost of $12,000, is slated for completion in April of this year.

“The committee plans to provide support and in-kind resources to help build a state-of-the art climbing wall for generations of scouts and visiting groups to enjoy at Camp Acahela,” Kim Albert, committee spokesperson explained.  “Our goal is to help young people become more physically fit, gain confidence, and have fun by learning how to ascend and descend the climbing wall.”
