Jay Leno Headlines Grand Opening Celebrations at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs

Other performances included Josh Turner, Derek Hough, The Bacon Brothers, Daughtry and more
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs celebrated the grand opening of their new hotel and convention center January 18th – 20th with first-class entertainment. The weekend was headlined with a private 90-minute performance by stand-up comedian and late-night personality Jay Leno of The Tonight Show who flew in from Los Angeles just for the event.

While at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, it was a Tonight Show reunion as Leno and Kevin Bacon – the star of The Following and a recent guest on the late-night show – met while backstage near their dressing rooms. Bacon, who is just off the Golden Globes, was at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with his brother Michael and their band, the Bacon Brothers, for a jammed-packed concert.

Double-platinum-selling-singer, songwriter and Country star Josh Turner also brought down the house on Sunday, January 19th to a sold-out crowd. Rachel Bradshaw, an up and coming country artist and daughter of former NFL quarterback and football analyst Terry Bradshaw, opened for Turner.

Additional entertainment throughout the weekend included a special performance by recent Dancing With The Stars winner Derek Hough and his professional dance partner Emma Slater, as well as a musical performance by David Foster and the Mohegan Sun All-Stars on Sunday evening.

The weekend rounded out with an intimate acoustic performance by Daughtry, who is performing at the first-ever Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular on January 27th. Daughtry
performed a short set of songs from for fourth album, Baptized, which was released in November 2013.
The celebratory weekend was in honor of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Down’s new hotel and convention center which officially opened in November 2013. The 238-room hotel includes a combination of standard guest rooms and suites, all incorporating comfort and convenience with new technologies including iPad Mini compendiums, iHome docking systems, Smart TV’s and single cup coffee brewers. The hotel also features an indoor pool, fitness center, business center and on-site Spa Sapphire salon and spa which will open in February.
