Gettysburg 150th: Harrisburg National Civil War Museum

<br>&nbsp;The 150th anniversary of the battle of&nbsp; Gettysburg is July 1,2,3 and we took a trip to the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg to find what makes this place a unique visit. Photojournalist Tom Gregory shows us.

Harrisburg-  It opened in 2001, about 40,000 visitors a year. 5,000-8,000 school kids a year. most are 8th graders because that is when they study the Civil War in Pa. They have a large amount of donations over 25,000 items related to the CW. They look for items that have a story to go with them. A young officer from NY who died at Gettysburg, they have the blood soaked manual he had in his pocket when he died. A bible that Robert E. Lee took with him into numerous battles. A trunk belonging to U.S. Grant. The artifacts and exhibits are beautiful.
