Generations of Energy: November 10, 2013

Students at the West Side Career and Technology Center in Pringle have been learning about energy in their classes all year long. Now, thanks to a new program, they're learning how they can get jobs in those same energy fields.
Luzerne County-  Teachers at the West Side Career and Technology center wanted to show their students how they could get jobs in energy.

The program includes workshops on all things energy.
Sessions were held by representatives from Wilkes University and Lackawanna College.
Cabot Oil and Gas teamed up with Junior Achievement of NEPA to bring the hands-on learning to students.
The school's administrative director presented the idea, and teachers jumped on board.

"And when she approached the faculty with it, most of us were all in. We thought it was a great opportunity for our students." said Maria Courtright, Chemistry Teacher

And the students agree  the program opened their eyes to the possibilities in growing energy industries.
