October 12 is International Observe the Moon Night!
Game On! It is hockey season! WBRE TV is very proud to broadcast the opening game of the Wilkes-Barre-Scranton Penguins. Saturday, October 12th-
Sports Photo Journalist Rich Charneski filled me in on the details-The Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins open their home season on Saturday against their arch rival the Hershey Bears.
This is the first of 12 meetings between the Penguins and the Bears this season.
This is the 15th season of Wilkes-Barre-Scranton. Penguins hockey
The penguins are 1 and 0 this season after opening with a road win at Bridgeport, Connecticut last Saturday.
The game will air live on WBRE-TV starting at 7pm with Mike O'Brien handling the broadcast duties.

Program Reminder The upcoming Educational Conference hosted by the Family Service Association of NEPA will be the focus of this Sunday's Newsmakers Program. The monthly public affairs program is hosted by Senior Producer Jayne Ann Bugda and the I-Team's Andy Mehalshick.
This year's conference is entitled "LGBTQA United Together: Individuals,
Families, Communities" . Bugda and Mehalshick will have as their
guests Michael Zimmerman- CEO Family Service Association NEPA, Sarah Luvender , MSW, LCSW - Family Service Association NEPA and John Dawe, CFRE- Executive Director NEPA Rainbow Alliance. Zimmerman, Luvender and Dawe will discuss the various sessions that will be held during the conference on November 15 and take a close at some of the concerns and issues facing the LGBTQA community.
Newsmakers will air Sunday, October 13 at 6:30 am on WYOU and will re-broadcast at 11:30 am on WBRE.
This Sunday’s Generations of Energy Segment features solar energy at work on the campus of the University of Scranton.
