DJ's with Ties to Luzerne County Win Big Honor

92.5 XTU’s morning team, The Doc & Andie Show, have been named Major Market “Personalities of the Year” by the Country Music Association.
92.5 XTU’s morning team, The Doc & Andie Show, have been named Major Market “Personalities of the Year” by the Country Music Association.  They were notified early Monday morning (10/21/13) by The Band Perry, calling them on behalf of the CMA.
Heard mornings from 5:30 to 10AM, Doc MedekAndie Summers and side-kick/producer Kevin Crockett, have been a team for just over three years. 
Their honor recognizes their community service and contributions to the Country music industry.  Doc and Andie are the hosts of the annual XTU Toy Truck Parade, the annual breast cancer ‘Survivor’s Celebration Lunch,’ the Hero Thrill Show and the Military May events supporting the Liberty USO.  Andie, as team captain of the station’s Xtra Mile Team, has helped raise nearly $800,000 through the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.  She was honored at the last month’s 2013 3-Day with the first annual Milestone Award. 
Doc and Andie can also be heard as the hosts of the station’s ‘Eagles Prime Time Live’ with players Todd Herremans and Jason Kelce.  The program is broadcast live Monday nights at 7:30 from Chickies & Pete’s South Philly location. 
This was the show’s first nomination.  The trophy will be presented during the 47th Annual CMA Awards broadcast celebrations  next month.  “Country’s Biggest Night,™” the 47th Annual CMA Awards, will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 8:00PM and seen locally on 6abc.  The event will be hosted for the sixth time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.
92.5 XTU has been ‘Philadelphia’s Country Station’ for over 29 years and was a finalist for the Major Market Station of the Year.”  92.5 XTU is a Beasley Broadcast Group station, along with Wired 96.5, WWDB-AM 860, Wilmington’s WJBR and WTMR in Camden.
