Update: South Scranton Intermediate School Lockdown Lifted

Update: No Weapons found. Classes back to normal
2:15 pm UPDATE- Reporter Eric Deabill reports that the lockdown at South Scranton Intermediate School has been lifted.  The Superintendent told Eric that a student reported a weapon in the school to a Vice Principal.  The school was placed in lockdown and search by police.  No weapons were found.  Classes are resuming and students will be dismissed at their normal time.



Scranton, Lackawanna County-  South Scranton Intermediate School is currently in lock down.  The Scranton Police Chief tells Eyewitness News that a tip from a student was given to the School Resource Officer that there maybe a weapon in the school.  Police are on the scene and searching the building.  Parents are not being allowed inside.  Eyewitness News Reporter Eric Deabill is on the scene.
