Several Violent Crashes Across the Region
Update-  Eyewitness News has more information on a violent crash in Monroe County.  One of the victims has died from injuries suffered in a head-on crash in Monroe County. Eyewitness News was there Friday night shortly after the wreck on route 611 in Mount Pocono. According to an online obituary, 42-year-old Katrina Strausser of Reeders died Saturday. The crash happened Friday night around 8 o'clock shortly after her 18-year-old son Gunner Strausser graduated from Pocono Mountain East. He and his 22-year-old brother, Ricky Strausser, along with their mother and a man were all thrown from their vehicle after impact. Police say preliminary findings show the Chevrolet Camaro carrying the Strausser family crossed into oncoming traffic to pass other vehicles causing the Monroe County crash.
One man is dead after an early morning crash in Pike County. It happened Sunday morning around 3 o'clock in Palmyra Township on route 390. State police say 21-year-old Christopher McLaughlin of Moscow lost control on a curve. The vehicle flipped and crashed roof-first into a tree. McLaughlin died at the scene of the pike county crash.

   Police in Luzerne County are investigating a violent one-vehicle crash that injured six young people.  in West Hazleton. It happened shortly before 10:30 p-m Saturday on Route 93 near the intersection of Deer run road. The driver of an s-u-v lost control causing it to flip several times. All six boys and girls inside were thrown from the wreckage. At least three of them were critically injured and flown to an area trauma center. The other victims suffered non- life threatening injures and were taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
