Things will be hopping in Downtown this weekend with three consecutive evenings of performances at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts on Public Square.

On Friday night, it's Zappa in concert, as guitarist Dweezil Zappa returns to the Kirby Center for a tribute to his father Frank's groundbreaking music.

On Saturday night, John Mueller's Winter Dance Party musically transports you back to 1959 and the fateful final tour of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper.

On Sunday night, comedian and "Parks and Recreation" costar Aziz Ansari holds forth on the Kirby stage with the standup routine of his Modern Romance tour.

To be sure, these are three very different shows, but, whether you favor Joe's Garage, Peggy Sue, or Tom Haverford, there's something for you this week in Downtown WIlkes-Barre. And, no matter what show brings you here, you'll find lots of dining and shopping options within an easy stroll of the Kirby Center.

Looking for a summertime treat? There's frozen yogurt from Froyo Mania or ice cream from Diamond City Dairy. Or, try an iced coffee at the Cafe at Barnes & Noble, Crimson Lion, Dunkin Donuts, or IBOP Coffee Company. From sidewalk tables to outdoor patios to indoor dining, center city's many restaurants and bars provide a variety of settings to gather with friends before or after the show.

Wondering what else you can find in Downtown? You can review a complete list of Downtown's dining, shopping, and entertainment options here.

Hoping to see you soon in Downtown Wilkes-Barre!
