PA One Book author, Susan Stockdale, will visit the Library on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:45 AM for a special nonregistration program. Every family in attendance will receive a copy of her book, Stripes of All Types, which is recommended for children ages 3-6.
Friends First Friday Book Review Luncheon
Friday April 4
April's Book Review Luncheon will compare chapters from Let the Great World Spin and Transatlantic, both by Colum McCann, Irish American writer of literary fiction. 

The presenter will be Thomas A. Zimmerman, Associate Professor of Psychology, Humanities/Social Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology.  Zimmerman, a native of Williamsport, has been, for several years, the member of a reading group that reads exclusively Irish authors.

Be sure to stop by the Moltz Rotunda Room to see the Local Black Heritage Project, on display  until April 11.
The Lycoming Audubon Society will present 
Finding and Identifying the Sparrows of Central PA

There are 17 common sparrows in Central Pennsylvania, and Alex Lamoreaux will discuss the strategy to identify them. 

 

Alex is currently studying Wildlife Biology at Pennsylvania State University, and is also a traveling field ornithologist, most recently working for the Center for Conservation Biology. An avid birder since 8 years old, Alex has been able to travel across most of the United States, and also to Central America and Southern Africa in search birds. 

 

When:  March 26, 2014, Chapter meeting begins at 6 pm with the program commencing at 6:30 pm in the Lowry Room on the Third Floor of the Welch Wing
