Third Friday Wilkes-Barre Art Walk Resumes March 21st

The March Artist is Author and Poet, John Yamrus.
Third Friday Wilkes-Barre, a celebration of art and artists in downtown Wilkes-Barre resumes on Friday, March 21. The art walk runs from 5-8 p.m.

 Some of the participating venues for March include Art Seen Gallery, Barnes and Noble College Bookseller, Bart & Urby’s, King's College – Widmann Gallery, Letts Eat Flavors of India, Marquis Art and Frame, the Osterhout Free Library, Outrageous & Ellise Boutique, Shambala and the Wyoming Valley Art League.

The event is family friendly and free to attend. Free meter parking is available after 6 p.m. on North Main, South Main and Washington streets. Patrons can also park at the James F. Conahan Intermodal Transportation Center, at Genetti's Hotel, or various Park and Lock locations.

Third Friday Wilkes-Barre originally began in 2006. A committee of volunteers, led by Don Armstrong of the Wyoming Valley Art League came forward in 2013 to revive the event. The 2014 Art Walk season will run March through October.

Something new for 2014 is the Featured Artist of the Month. The March Artist is Author and Poet,  John Yamrus. Mr. Yamrus will offer a Book Launch Party at the Osterhout Free Library, including a 6:30pm poetry reading in conjunction with Third Friday.
