Team USA Women's Hockey Ready to Face Rival

The puck drops Thursday in Sochi
Bad blood doesn't even begin to describe the relationship between the US and Canada Women's ice hockey teams. Since women's ice hockey became an Olympic sport in 1998, only 2 countries have ever won a gold medal and they're the same two that will Thursday night in Sochi

"We're excited, we're ready to go, just going on all cylinders right now and kind of ready to get this show on the road." said Meghan Duggan, Team USA Captain.

In addition to going for gold the US will also be going for revenge. Canada's controversial 3-2 win in the group stage last week left a bitter taste.

"Everyone knows about the rivalry, there will be blood sweat and tears...." said Megan Bozek, Team USA Defensemen

Duggan added "It's always revenge against them, I still want revenge from Vancouver."

Veteran Julie Chu is playing in her 4th Olympic games with the US. The previous 3 trips ended with Canada taking home gold. Now the 31-year old hopes the 4th time's the charm.

"We came to win gold. I've been fortunate to go to 3 Olympics." said Chu "We have 10 new players, not thinking about past, or future just what we can do tomorrow. "

The team looked loose and carefree at practice today but they told Tim once the puck drops Thursday night its all about getting that gold medal.
