Wednesdays, July 2, 16 and 30, 5:30 to 6:30 pm
Expecting, new or experienced mothers are encouraged to attend Baby Café from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on Wednesdays, July 2, 16 and 30 at The LifeCenter, Lycoming Mall. This group discussion gives moms an opportunity to talk with other moms about their pregnancy and after birth experiences while spending time out of the house. It’s a safe and relaxed, child-friendly environment, and a board-certified lactation consultant will facilitate the group. Exchange tips about breastfeeding, receive breastfeeding support and discuss parenting concerns with other moms. Mothers are encouraged to bring babies. Free weight checks for baby are available. Susquehanna Health LifeCenter Closed to Observe July 4 Holiday
Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter at Lycoming Mall will be closed on Friday, July 4 to allow volunteers time to celebrate with their families. The LifeCenter will be open from 10 am to 5 pm on Monday, July 7.

Safe Sitter Course
Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter is a Registered Safe Sitter® Teaching Site and will offer the comprehensive babysitting training program for young teens ages 11 and up from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 15 at The LifeCenter, Lycoming Mall. This program is provided through the collaboration of Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter and Reproductive Health Center with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The fee for the Safe Sitter (1-day) class is $30 and includes The Official Safe Sitter® Babysitter’s Handbook. Scholarships are available based on need. Diabetes Education Class
The Diabetes Education Class, a series of four diabetes education sessions that conclude with a fifth, one-hour, follow-up class, will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Wednesdays, July 9, 16, 23 and 30 at the Diabetes & Nutrition Care Center, Divine Providence Hospital, Third Floor. Each session offers a new topic including an overview of diabetes, an overview of nutrition, medications and exercise, preventing complications, support and resources. A follow-up class for the July sessions provides updates and problem solving and will be held on September 17 at 1:30 pm. Most health insurances will pay for the cost of nutrition education. Risk for osteoporosis increases with age, menopause, inactivity and lifestyle choices or inherited tendencies. A

AARP Driver Safety Refresher Course
A four-hour driver safety refresher course will be offered from 12:30 to 4:30 pm on Thursday, July 17 to individuals who have previously attended the two-day, eight-hour AARP Driver Safety Program and have proof that they attended that course. Please preregister by calling the Lincoln Senior Center at 570-323-3096, Monday or Wednesday from 9:30 am to noon. Prepayment of $15 for AARP members or $20 for non-members is required. Checks can be mailed to the Lincoln Senior Center, 2138 Lincoln St., Williamsport, PA 17701. This program is provided in partnership with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Susquehanna Health’s LifeCenter, Lycoming Mall, will host an Immunization Clinic, provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health from 10:15 am to 1 pm on Thursday, July 24. Immunizations will be offered for $5 per person to anyone who does not have insurance coverage for the needed vaccination. Payment to the “Commonwealth of Pennsylvania” will be accepted only by personal check or money order. Pelvic Pain Support Group
A Pelvic Pain Support Group is now available for women with chronic pelvic pain. This group is held on the fourth Thursday of the month and offers a positive and supportive environment where you can meet other women who live with endometriosis, interstitial cystitis and other pelvic pain conditions. This month’s meeting will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, July 24 at Costello Center Physical Therapy, Wenner Building, Divine Providence Hospital campus.
