Stamp Out Hunger

Local letter carriers were out in full force on Saturday taking part in the nation's largest one day food drive.

Pittston, Luzerne County- Local letter carriers were out in full force on Saturday taking part in the nation's largest one day food drive.

As part of the 22nd annual National Association of Letter Carriers' Food Drive, Eyewitness News Photojournalist Joe Ducey, caught up with a postal carrier from our area.

Mike Jaworski is one of thousands of postal workers from across the country who picked up the donations from along his mail route.

Residents say they're happy to see the postmen give back to the community.

The National Association of Letter Carriers' "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive hoped to get as much or more donations as last year.

The effort then collected more than 73 million pounds of food.
