Smile! Give Kids a Smile Day

A college in Lackawanna County is helping younsters keep their mouths healthy. It's to celebrate National Children's Dental Health month.
Scranton, Lackawanna County- The dental hygiene class  at the Fortis Institute in Scranton is preparing for "Give Kids a Smile Day", a national program that offers free services to children.  Alongside licensed hygienists and dentists, these students will treat up to 150-children. When it comes to oral hygiene, sometimes kids can use a little extra help.
    Devan Smith encourages kids to brush for two minutes, at least two times a day. She says, the easiest way is to brush in a circular motion.
    When it comes to flossing, new tools that you can buy over the counter, make it easy!
    According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cavities are the most common chronic childhood disease.
Along with regular cleanings, brushing, flossing and fluoride will keep your child's smile healthy!!
Fortis Institute in Scranton is holding give kids a smile day this Saturday from 8 a-m to 2-pm.
