Sherman Hills Task Force Holds Hearing As Owners Talk Extra Security

A specially formed Sherman Hills Task Force held its first ever public hearing Thursday in its efforts to make the crime plagued complex a safe place to live.
Members of the Sherman Hills Task Force heard from several witnesses Thursday about how the embattled housing complex can be made safer- Representative Matt Cartwright chairs the task force and said, "We have heard about success stories at crime plagued housing complexes in Washington and Harrisburg and we have to utilize the common denominators and put them into use here"  The owners of Sherman Hills will soon install a security fence around the property and place gates at its three entrances--one will be manned with an armed guard-- Shavon Blake lives at Sherman Hills and told Eyewitness News, "If it is going to keep people safe then I'm all for it" --- Resident Alfred Race said, "I don't want this to be a prison but I know something has to be done"---
