A Girardville police officer opened fire on a man that was out of control--so say investigators.
State Troopers say 31 year old Carmen Almonti was out of control when he was shot by Girardville Officer Mel Tomeo early Friday morning-It began as a domestic incident involving Almonti's live-in girlfriend--she drove to the police station fearing for her safety and that of six children in the home on Line Street-- An neighbor said she heard six shots and that Almonti was screaming-- Tomeo tased Almonti twice but that did not stop him say Troopers-Tomeo then fired several shots-- Almonti suffered non-life threatening injuries and remains hospitalized-- Tomeo was treated for a concussion and released---
