Rumors of Horses Being Euthanized

A Luzerne County equestrian center is debunking rumors about their horses being euthanized.
Hazle Township, Luzerne County - A Luzerne County equestrian center is debunking rumors about their horses being euthanized.

The Eagle Rock Resort in Hazle Township is changing hands in their horse and equestrian center.  During the process, a flyer stating the horses there need homes or they would be euthanized began circulating on Facebook.  Friday, the resort adamantly denied those rumors and insisted that no horses will be put to death.

Eagle Rock Resort General Manager Jim Sebia says "it's important to get the facts out.  There was a lot circulating that we were going to euthanize horses and close the equestrian center.  What we did was close temporarily and there was no talk of euthanization and there is no danger to them."  He says the truth is that the Eagle Rock Equestrian Center is temporarily closed while they make renovations, bring in new management, and new horses to hopefully draw a bigger crowd.

As for the flyer, it is still unclear who originally posted it and why.
