Renovations Underway For Scranton's Electric City Sign

The committee that organizes La Festa Italiana has pledged 10-thousand dollars to repair The Electric City Sign in Downtown Scranton.
Scranton, Lackawanna County-A landmark sign will soon go from burned out to shining bright once again in Lackawanna County.

The committee that organizes La Festa Italiana has pledged 10-thousand dollars to repair The Electric City Sign in Downtown Scranton.

The sign was re-lit in 2004 and over the past ten years several bulbs have burnt out.

Without the donation, Scranton Mayor Bill Courtright didn't know if the bulbs would be fixed.

When the work is done on this sign, the current bulbs will all be replaced with energy efficient L.E.D. bulbs.

Some additional colors might even be a part of the sign.

City Leaders are hoping all the work is done by labor day weekend and the kickoff to La Festa.
