PPL Ready for Summer

Summer arrives on Saturday- PPL ready to keep it cool
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County - Summer officially begin on Saturday, June 21  and P-P-L is working to make sure that their customers stay cool during the hot and humid summer months.
 The electric company says the  number of power outages and the duration of the outages  has decreased over the last year.
   On Monday,  P-P-L dealt with a power outage in Scranton, Lackawanna County  that left more than 6-thousand people without power.
  The  utility crews were able to restore power to most customer in less than two-hours.
  In Luzerne County they are also  is working on installing new smart grid equipment and trimming trees in preparation for the heat and summer storms.
P-P-L is also working on completing several projects including  new lines out of the Old Forge,  Blytheburne and Moscow  substations to improve reliability.
