Police Standoff in Coolbaugh Township Neighborhood

UPDATE: :Pocono Mountain SD will be holding PM West High School, West Junior High School and PM Academy students who live in Pocono Farms East development in school until further notice Police in Monroe County are on the scene of a standoff in Coolbaugh Township. Officers were heard shouting to a person inside a home on Northampton Road in the Pocono Farms East community.
Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County - Police in Monroe County are on the scene of a standoff in Coolbaugh Township. Pocono Mountain Regional Police Officers were heard shouting to a person inside a home on Northampton Road in the Pocono Farms East community. They were calling for that person to surrender.

Police arrived at the home around 7 a.m. Wednesday for a domestic disturbance. Neighbors tell Eyewitness News a man attacked his wife and daughter with a machete, but police would not confirm those details.

Pocono Farms East Development Parents: Pocono Mountain SD will be holding Clear Run Elementary and Clear Run Intermediate School students who live in the Pocono Farms East development in our schools until further notice. Students who ride the following buses will remain safely in their schools after dismissal: Buses 806, 728, 727, 726, 426 and 415. 
 
Pocono Farms East parents may pick up their children at their schools. Parents must show a photo ID and be listed as an individual authorized to pick up the student(s).

Pocono Farms East Development Parents: Pocono Mountain SD will be holding PM West High School, West Junior High School and PM Academy students who live in Pocono Farms East development in our schools until further notice. Students who ride the following buses will remain safely in their schools after dismissal: Buses 803, 810, 734, 728, 727, 726, 724 and 418. In addition, students who ride Bus 424 will remain at PM East schools until further notice.
Pocono Farms parents may pick up their children at their schools. Parents must show a photo ID and be listed as an individual authorized to pick up the student(s).


No decision has been made regarding elementary students who reside in the Pocono Farms East development. District Administrators await an update from police to determine if the police activity in the Pocono Farms community will be resolved prior to elementary school dismissal.

All after-school activities and practices have been canceled for Pocono Mountain West Schools only
