The courses also will focus on recommended order for taking the test, increased reading comprehension and understanding paired passages in the verbal section, copyrighted approached to solving analogy questions, familiarity with math grid and when to use a calculator in the math section, advantages and disadvantages of guessing, ways to reduce the time needed to answer questions, and how the SATs are scored, and how to compute a score on sample tests.

Important features of the programs include instructors who are approved by Penn State to teach the SAT preparation course and who are fully qualified to effectively assist students in improving math and verbal skills, along with testing strategies; practical and relevant course materials for the current SAT; homework assignments to complete between classes, and sample SAT questions on practice tests.
