Parents in Wilkes-Barre are on high alert after a man allegedly tried to sell drugs to kids and then threatened to kidnap them.
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County -- Parents in Wilkes-Barre are on high alert after a man allegedly tried to sell drugs to kids and then threatened to kidnap them.

It happened Monday morning as the kids were walking to Heights Elementary School.

The children ran the rest of the way to school and told the assistant principal what happened.

The Wilkes-Barre Area School District posted a message on its website to warn the community.

The incident has many parents concerned about the safety of their kids.

The suspect is described as a man in his 20's, six feet tall, thin build, wearing a black and red jacket, black and red hat, black shorts, and red sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Wilkes-Barre Police Department or 9-1-1.
