Secretary of Revenue Dan Meuser joins Jayne Ann Bugda and Andy Mehalshick for Newsmakers

Pennsylvania Secretary of Revenue, Dan Meuser will be the featured guest on Newsmakers. 


The monthly public affairs program is hosted by Senior Producer Jayne Ann Bugda and the I-Team’s Andy Mehalshick.

  Secretary Meuser will discuss the financial state of the state.  He will also  talk about pensions, the Natural Gas Industry, taxes and attracting businesses to the Commonwealth.  The benefits and future of Pennsylvania Lottery will also be discussed.

Meet our Guest:  PA Secretary of Revenue- Dan Meuser--

Dan Meuser was nominated by Governor Tom Corbett on Jan. 18, 2011, to be Secretary of Revenue, and he was subsequently unanimously confirmed to the post by
the Pennsylvania Senate on May 3, then sworn into office on May 20.

The Department of Revenue’s mission is to fairly, efficiently and accurately administer the tax laws and other revenue programs of the commonwealth to fund necessary government services. In addition to tax collection, the department administers the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program, researches and develops revenue projections for the state budget and oversees the Pennsylvania Lottery, which generates funds for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians.

Prior to being nominated as Revenue secretary, Meuser was with Pride Mobility Products for more than 20 years and is the former President of Pride USA. Located in Luzerne County, Pride Mobility Products Corp. is the world’s leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of power wheelchairs and scooters.

Meuser formerly served on the Board of the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Wilkes-Barre YMCA and the Board of Trustees of Misericordia University.

Meuser and his wife, Shelley, reside in Shavertown with their three children.
