Moving Forward with Moosic Bridge Plans

Moosic, Lackawanna County-Plans to renovate a bridge in Moosic which have been the center of controversy will move forward this summer.

PennDot is looking to close the bridge at the intersection of Main Street and Lonesome Road in Old Forge for six months.

The problem is a county-owned bridge on Main Street in Moosic is also closed right now.

An analysis showed opening that bridge to emergency responders would not be possible.

As a result, workers now plan to bring in a pre-fabricated, temporary bridge and put it along Main Street for any emergencies.

It should be installed by the end of July and that's when the work will begin on the other bridge.
