Mother's Day Adoption Mass

This Mass offers us an opportunity to honor all mothers
The Mother’s Day Adoption Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in the  Cathedral of Saint Peter, Scranton. Bishop Emeritus James C. Timlin, who celebrated the first Mother’s Day Adoption Mass, will be the principal celebrant. Monsignor Joseph P. Kelly, Diocesan Secretary of Catholic Human Services, will be the homilist.
This Mass offers us an opportunity to honor all mothers. Planning is being coordinated by the Adoption: A Choice for Life Committee, which for many years has been promoting adoption as an alternative to abortion and a means to prevent child abuse. The Mass is co-sponsored by Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton and St. Joseph’s Center. Both agencies provide adoption services throughout the Diocese. The Diocesan Office for Parish Life is also assisting in planning.
The public is invited to attend. Catholic Television: CTV will broadcast the Mass live.
