Man in custody after three-state crime spree

33-year-old Luis Figueroa was arrested for an assault that started in Hazleton, Luzerne County.
Hazleton, Luzerne County - Hazleton City Police converged on a home at 149 North Church Street just after 8 a.m. when neighbors heard people screaming and running down the sidewalk.

Police say 33-year-old Luis Figueroa assaulted two women inside the home, and chased a pregnant woman down the street.

"Mr. Figueroa attempted to abduct one adult female" Said Chief Frank DeAndrea "She was pregnant she escaped out of the house that adult female scantly clothed started waving to a bus requesting to the driver open the door of the bus."

That bus was a school bus with children on board.

Detectives say Figueroa then abducted a second woman from the house and threw her into a van and drove toward the Poconos.

Figueroa then allegedly assaulted a park ranger near the Delaware Water Gap and stole his vehicle. The second woman was able to escape.

Figueroa then drove to a car dealership in New Jersey when he was able to commandeer a Cadillac Escalade. He allegedly tried to set the salesman and the dealership on fire.

Figueroa fled toward New York City. He rammed several police cars at a road block. He was finally stopped on the George Washington Bridge and arrested but not before causing a lot of damage and injuring three Port Authority officers.
