LCTA Probe Far From Over: Sources Tell The I-Team

The I-Team Has confirmed that the State Investigation into alleged ghost riders on LCTA buses is not over yet. A Statewide Investigating Grand Jury is expected to hear more testimony from people connected to the LCTA.
The I-Team has confirmed that at least one more person connected to the LCTA, Luzerne County Transportation Authority, is expected to testify before a Statewide Investigating Grand Jury-- Five bus drivers have already testified-that testimony included information that LCTA managers allegedly told drivers to pad ridership numbers- Those numbers are used to help calculate certain levels of state and federal funding- A bus driver who is cooperating with State investigators told Eyewitness News, "We were told that if rider numbers were not increased we could lose our jobs- we have families to feed and bills to pay so we did what we had to do!" The investigation prompted PennDot to order the LCTA to implement a new ridership counting policy which includes more oversight by managers and increased monitoring of passenger numbers- The probe is also looking at other transportation authorities across the Commonwealth--LCTA officials insist there is no wrong doing and are cooperating with State investigators- They also say they have voluntarily given documents to State investigators---
