A check for $20,000 was presented to officials of Sherwood Park by the Lackawanna County Commissioners.  The funding will be used to cover a portion of the cost for constructing an indoor softball practice building, the design of two bleacher pads and the installation of a handicap accessible walkway between the fields and parking lot.  The Community Re-invest Program is open to all Lackawanna County municipalities, municipal authorities, charitable agencies and nonprofit organizations.

Moscow Borough is installing a handicapped-accessible RockBlock Climb and Slide and a sensory Tic-Tac-Toe panel at its recreational facility.  The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented officials with a check for $9,941 in Community Re-Invest funds, covering the cost of the entire venture.  Community Re-Invest funds are used for projects involving greenways and trails, outdoor recreational facilities, infrastructure or community quality of life activities.

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented Olyphant Borough officials with a $30,000 check, which will be used to construct a new field house and pavilion at Condella Park.  The project, funded through the County’s Community Re-Invest Program, entails building a new concession stand and covered picnic and seating areas along with the installation of restroom facilities.  Community Re-Invest was established in July of 2013 by the Commissioners to strengthen County neighborhoods and to promote their future growth.

The Newton Township based Marley’s Mission received a $15,000 Lackawanna County Community Re-Invest grant for the purchase and construction of a hay storage building.  The organization provides free equine therapy for children who experience trauma.  To date, the Commissioners approved financing for 38 projects totaling $558,064.
