Friends Book Review Luncheon
 
The next program for the First Friday Book Review Luncheons, sponsored by the Friends of the JV Brown Library, on February 7, 2014, will feature two works of historical fiction - Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Ann Fowler and The Paris Wife by Paula McClain.
 
Mary Beth Kibbe, recently retired English teacher and Friends board member, will be the reviewer.
 

First Friday, February 7, at the James V. Brown Library 
features the handcrafted illustrations of Jerry Trojan, a horse of a different color. 
 

Jerry Trojan will present from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Moltz Rotunda Room, just inside the front vestibule of the Fourth Street entrance, easily accessible from the street. Political Information Series
 
Lycoming College professors Jonathan Williamson and Mehrdad Madresehee have teamed with the James V. Brown library to present a series of programs to shed some light on the political and financial issues influencing our country at this time. On Wednesday, February 12, Dr. Williamson will give a talk titled "The State of the Political Parties in America," and on Wednesday, February 19, Dr. Madresehee will discuss "How Economics Affects Political Policy and how Political Policy Affects Economics." Both programs begin at 5:30 pm. in the Lowry Room in the Welch Family Wing.

What is self-publishing and how can it benefit you? On Friday, February 28 at 6 pm in the Lowry Room, media expert Jerry Frear will present "A Guide to Self- Publishing and Marketing Your Book," explaining the facets of self-publishing and using Social Media for promotion.
