We will be celebrating Children’s Book Week May 12-18. Spend time with your children at the library during Story Time. Regular story times are as follows: Preschool (ages 3-5): Tuesdays May 6, 13 & 20 @ 10:30 am and 1:30 pm; Toddler (ages 2&3): Thursdays May 1, 8, 15 & 22 @ 10:30 am; Baby (ages 0-2): Fridays May 2, 9, 16 & 23 @ 10:30 am. Be part of an Interactive Evening Family Story Time on Friday, May 23 for 6:30 to 7:30 PM. This event is sponsored by the Teen Leadership Committee.  The THEME is The Dark. Ages 3-6. This month, the original photography of Stephanie Longo of Capodaria Designs, "April Showers Bring May Flowers," will be on display at the Library.  Ms. Longo is the Editor of the Abington SUBURBAN and a frequent program facilitator at this Library. 
 
There are two opportunities to learn how to make your own, unique greeting cards. Learn tips, experience tools, and explore techniques of the art of paper crafting on Thursday May 1 from 6 to 8 PM. Materials Fee: $10 to the instructor at the time of class. Trying to find the perfect gift for Mother's Day? Why not Create one-of-a-kind Mother's Day cards (2) as well as learn how to make dryer sheet flowers with Ricki Kalp on Monday May 5 from 1-3 PM! $10 materials fee are to be paid to the instructor the day of the class. LIMIT 5.
 
Spring is an "egg-cellent time" of year to have an Egg Hunt for children! Join us on Sunday May 4 from 3 to 4 PM and listen to a story, search for eggs and enjoy a treat!
 
Do you need help with Computer basics, Email, iPad/iPhone, Kindle/Nook, Facebook, Skype, Facetime, Basics of the Microsoft Office Suite (2007), or something else? Sign up for a technology scheduling session on May 6th or May 13th from 12 to 1 PM or May 7 or May 21 from 6 to 7 PM.  Our instructors offer customized one-on-one training.
 
Get your Vegetable Gardening questions answered with expert Suzanne Maslar on Monday, May 12 at 7 PM . Suzanne is a Lackawanna County Master Gardener and she also has her own Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) business and a small greenhouse. She helped Abington Community Gardeners in 2013 and is looking forward to assisting again. This session is open to any interested Community or home gardener.
 
Have you always wanted to learn a new language? Now you can! Learn how to speak Esperanto, an international language you can use to travel the world! This will be an 8-week series starting Tuesday April 22 - June 10 from 7 to 9 PM. All ages and language experience levels are invited to attend.
 
Reminder: The Library will be closed Memorial Day Weekend, May 24-27. If you’d like to join us and walk in the Clarks Summit Veteran’s Day Parade, call or stop by the Library to sign up.
