I-Team- IRS Phone Scam

I-Team- IRS Phone Scam

The IRS Phone Scam is back and according to the IRS the con artists are more aggressive.

The I-Team has a warning for you tonight about a telephone scam that has targeted people in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.
Con Artists are calling homes and claiming to be from the IRS.
They're threatening to have the person arrested unless they make an immediate payment of supposed unpaid taxes.

The I-Team talked to Hazleton businessman, George Bakos,  who received such a call and  knew something just wasn't right.
He said the more he questioned the caller, the more belligerent the caller became.
"Then he got really aggressive he got real angry with me and told me that you don't want to go to jail you sound like a good person. We're trying to help you out"

The I-team spoke with Jennifer Jenkins from the I-R-S she says the scam artists are back and are more aggressive than in the past.

If you would like more information or if you think you are a victim of an IRS Phone Scam the IRS wants to hear from you.
