The I-team on the trail tonight of people who are posing as IRS officials and calling area residents  demanding money and threatening to send them to jail...we first told you about the phone scam last week.  On Monday, the I-Team's Andy Mehalshick confronted an alleged scam artist on the phone.   The IRS reminds everyone they do not contact by phone, email, social media or texting.  They have a processes that is done by mail.  If you have a concern check out the IRS Website or FTC Website


Kim from the Weatherly area of Carbon County says she has been receiving threatening calls from someone claiming to be from the I.R.S..

At first Kim says she didn't now what to think since she doesn't owe the IRS money..her son returned the phone call. There person who answered was very irate and used profanity.

The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick also called- the man demanded Andy's personal information even if when Andy's repeatedly told him he was a reporter.

Jennifer Jenkins of the IRS reminds everyone do not give personal information over the phone or internet.
