Geisinger-Community Medical Center to Host Nurses Week Appreciation Event

National Nurses Week begins annually on May 6 and ends on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.
Geisinger-Community Medical Center (G-CMC) will host “A Salute to Scranton’s Nurses” as a kickoff event to National Nurses Week on Monday, May 5 at The Colonnade. All Lackawanna County registered nurses are invited to attend free of charge.
The event, which takes place from 2-6 p.m., is a celebration of the Scranton area’s dedicated registered nurses. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served.
“The Scranton area is home to thousands of registered nurses who have dedicated their lives to making the people of this community healthier,” said Angelo Venditti, RN, chief nursing officer, G-CMC. “G-CMC is honored to host this event and celebrate the important work they do each and every day.”
