Funding for River Water Gauges

Senator Bob Casey stops by the area to talk with EMA Officials
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County-  The February thaw is on, that means snow and ice are melting and waterway levels are rising.
  Monitoring those levels is critical.
That's why some say more money is needed for more gauges and to keep those gauges functioning properly
Area emergency response coordinators are getting some national help to push for additional river gauge funding.
The call is to provide more river gauges like one that was installed in Wilkes-Barre following the historic flood of 2011.
The gauges help in forecasting potential flooding.
Senator Bob Casey met on Friday with emergency officials about the gauges.
