     Here's what we are working  on for Eyewitness News for     March 19, 2014.

      Good news to share- I am thrilled so please allow me to self promote!

We have just learned that "Newsmakers" with Jayne Ann Bugda and Andy Mehalshick has been awarded the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters  Award for Excellence for Outstanding Television Public Affairs Program- 
     We are very honored.

    
    More good news- Tomorrow is the first day of Spring!


    On this day in history- The First United State Bank was robbed. That was back in 1831.  This info comes to me from the "Bottomline Calendar".

In conjunction with Penn State Wilkes-Barre's 2014 spring film series,  FIVE GREAT BOOKS, FIVE GREAT FILMS the Osterhout Free Library will host two BOOK DISCUSSIONS of books that have been made into films featured in the series.

 Dublin Guitar Quartet will perform on Wednesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. The performance, presented by the Weis Center for the Performing Arts at Bucknell, is free and open to the public; tickets are not required.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the performance. Prior to the concert, members of the Quartet will participate in a pre-performance talk from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.


What do you do when someone you love suffers a life-changing accident? Anything you can.  Volunteer organizers are hosting a craft bingo on March 23 in the New Berlin Social Hall at 416 Liberty Street in  Mifflinburg to benefit the Mike Hobbins and Taylor Bingaman Recovery Funds.  Doors open at noon.

Chef Brian Kravits from Luzerne County Community College is in the PA Live Kitchen.  Chef Brian will prepare  his Crab with Penne and Vodka Sauce.  He will also   talk a  about the LCCC Culinary Arts Progam.
 
   Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord! - Members of the Sweet Charity players preview their production of "Godspell" and how they help local families.

 And N-E-P-A Mom Megan Galko lets us know how to  save money with e-bates.

     An Archbald man is sentenced on child abuse charges.  Eric Deabill will have the latest.  

   A Judge rules that a key piece of evidence in deadly hit and run crash can not be used in trial.  The I-Team's Andy Mehalshick will have the latest.


   Plus, the faithful gather to say good bye to the Blessed Sacrament Church in Wilkes-Barre.
