Free Flu Shots For Wilkes-Barre Residents

City Health Department offers free flu vaccines
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County-  People who live in Wilkes-Barre can get a free flu shot in October.  The city health department announced a free walk-in flu vaccine clinic to help protect people from influenza. 

The clinic is at Kirby Health Center on 71 North Franklin Street.  It's for city residents only.  If you want to get a free flu shot, just bring some proof that you live in the city of Wilkes-Barre.

The Centers for Disease Control reports between 5%-20% of people get the flu and more than 200,000 are hospitalized from flu-related complications. The elderly and very young are most at risk.

Here is a list of the dates and times for the free clinic:

     
  • Thursday, October 17, 3-7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, October 22, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
  • Monday, October 28, 1-4 p.m.
