Everhart Museum opens for 2014 Season!

Dear News Desk:

January 31st may mark the Chinese "Year of the Horse," but here at the Everhart is the "Year of the Dinosaur!" Thanks to the generous underwritng of Pagnotti Enterprises and Lackawanna Insurance Co., the museum's permanent Fossil Gallery has been given a face lift! 

The unveiling will take place on Saturday, February 1st when we reopen for the 2014 season. Stop by and say hello to our Stegasaurus "Spike" and admire this newly revamped permanent gallery.

2014 is shaping up to be a great year at the Everhart Museum. We've got a great menu of temporary exhibitions on the schedule and oodles of children's programs and special events for our adult visitors. About the Everhart Museum

Founded in 1908 and located in Scranton's historic Nay Aug Park, the Everhart Museum  of Natural History, Science & Art is the largest general museum in Northeastern Pennsylvania. For over 100 years, the Museum has delighted the region with an ever changing selection of exhibits and programs. General support for the Museum is received from the Lackawanna County Office of Arts & Culture, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and the City of Scranton. 

     The Everhart Museum is open Thursday through Monday through December 29th. Museum hours are Mon., Thurs., & Fri., Noon to 4:00 pm; Sat. 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sun. Noon to 5:00 pm. Admission is $7/adults, $5/students & seniors; $3/children 6-12, and free to Everhart Museum members. Contact 570-346-7186 or email us for additional information.
