Crews Continue to Search for Missing Man in Wyoming County

46-year-old Thomas Yates, of Bellmore New York, was last seen over the weekend in Windham Township.
Update: Recovery crews have resumed searching for an apparent drowning victim in Wyoming County.
A memorial is set up at the Laceyville bridge in Windham Township where State Police, dive crews and other searchers spent today combing the Susquehanna River.
They looked but were unable to find Thomas Yates.
The 43-year-old Bellmore, New York man disappeared last Sunday when he presumably fell into the river.
Neighbors say Yates and his two brothers had just been kicked out of a nearby home after a heated argument.
On Monday, Yates' older brother, David, was charged with assaulting Thomas Yates twin, Richard, along the same bridge the previous day.
The older Yates is charged with assault and reckless endangerment but hasn't been charged with Thomas Yates' disappearance.

Wyoming County- Crews searching for a missing man in Wyoming County are trying to determine if he is a crime victim. State Police tell Eyewitness News  46-year-old Thomas Yates, of Bellmore New York, was last seen overnight in Windham Township. According to police Yates has cerebral palsy and walks with a pronounced limp. State police, fire crews and a dive and rescue team spent much of the day searching the Laceyville Bridge area. They blocked off Church Street leading to the bridge shortly after Yates disappeared this morning between 2:30 and 3 a-m.

One man who lives nearby the scene noticed the commotion. He says all the police activity is unusual for the usually quiet neighborhood. "This is a quiet town, quiet community, you don't usually see stuff like this at all." said Phillip Robertson of Laceyville. "I'm concerned about what happened and if the person made it out okay. Like I said this is a pretty quiet community, we don't get much crime in this area."

Anyone with information on Thomas Yates' whereabouts should call State Police Tunkhannock or 911.
