Hazleton, Luzerne County- The Greater Hazleton Chamber of Commerce staff is readying for 2,000 volunteers for the Great PA Great PA Cleanup which will take place on Saturday, April 26th. This year marks the 32nd year the Chamber is coordinating the effort for PennDOT in the Greater Hazleton Area. PennDOT provides garbage bags, gloves and vests for the volunteers while local businesses including Hershey, Bonanza West Hazleton, Burger King Humboldt Station, Burger King on Route 309, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Wendy’s in Downtown Hazleton and Drums, and Sonic Humboldt Station, provide coupons and/or goodies for each volunteer. The streets departments of the Black Creek Township, Butler Township, City of Hazleton, Hazle Township, and West Hazleton Borough also assists by collecting the hundreds of bags that the volunteers fill with litter and debris. Supplies for groups have already registered can be picked up at the Chamber office Monday to Friday, with the exception of Good Friday, April 18th beginning today until Friday, April 25th anytime between 8 am and 5 pm.
