Chilly Winter Prediction

The Old Farmer's Almanac, which is out this month, is predicting a cold winter ahead.
Wilkes-Barre Township, Luzerne County - The Old Farmer's Almanac, which is out this month, is predicting a cold winter ahead.  The annual publication has been out for 223 years and this year's prediction says winter in the northeastern half of the country will be a cold one with above normal snowfall.

The 2015 edition is out and while some are true believers of the book, others have their doubts.  "I hope they are wrong.  I do believe it, but I really hope they are wrong.  I can't take another cold winter.  I can't take another winter like last year," says Anthony Abdalla, of Clarks Summit.  Scott Blanchard, also of Clarks Summit, says "first of all it's always cold here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, at least for someone my age and second of all I don't believe in this rubbish."

The Old Farmer's Almanac predictions are traditionally 80 percent correct.  There is only a set number of Almanac's printed and when they sell out, that's it.  Stores don't restock the shelves.
