A local non-profit is making it easier to navigate through life-saving cancer screenings, for free.
Scranton, Lackawanna County- This month's Buddy Check report features a non-profit that's stepping in to help uninsured patients get potentially life-saving cancer screenings. Northeast Regional Cancer Institute has developed a grant-funded program to guide people through the process of getting regular screenings and it's all for free. So far, about 400 people in Northeastern Pennsylvania have signed up for regular mammograms to screen for breast cancer and even cervical and colon cancer.  For more information, contact the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute or call 570-941-7984 (Scranton) or 570-970-6543 (Wilkes-Barre.)  The Cancer Institute was the recent focus of Newsmakers  Click Here to Learn More
