Mitchell (7-7) went seven innings to pick up the win. He struck out nine and allowed one run off of four hits.
The lone run came on a single to left by Tim Fedroff. Jason Donald was the only Clipper to record more than one hit. He went 2-4 and scored on Fedroff's single.
After scoring one in the first, the Yankees hit Corey Kluber hard in the third, scoring four runs off him in that inning. Overall, Kluber (4-6) gave up four earned runs over six innings.
Yankees third baseman Kevin Russo went 3-4 and scored one run. Scranton / Wilkes-Barre had nine hits total.
After losing the first two, the Yankees hope to salvage a split in the series as it wraps up Thursday at 12:05 PM.
